It is the year 2063, and humanity has finally perfected Nanotechnology, and it has become a staple of life for everyone all over the world. The atomic-sized robots are ingrained into every facet of human life – the environment we live in, the food we eat, our clothes, the things we use, and even in our bodies from birth.
Although he is a genius and heir to a multi-billion-dollar estate and corporation, Max Stanley leads a low-key, mostly average life. He grew up with only an aloof conservator in his family's stead after they were killed in a car accident, of which he was the only survivor. The trauma left him unable to remember anything about them, especially his father, Greg Stanley, a genius and pioneer in Nanotech.
He knows only about his father from archives and what his conservator has told him. He was an innovator that paved the way for the future of Nanotechnology and left a legacy that Max is expected to live up to. Max discovers a message that his father left for him before he died buried deep in an old but very secure website. The message leads him to a set of special Nanos and a way that gives him the power to control them and whatever or whoever they are in.
Max only wants to follow his father's wishes and finish his work, but he unwittingly unleashes a chain of events that could set off the dreaded but mysterious Failsafe, the only thing put in place to keep Nanotechnology in check and destroy whoever is using them to step out of bounds. He also finds that whoever was behind the death of his family has been waiting for the moment his father's Nanos surfaced to start making their move to gain control of them. Can Max fulfill his father's wishes and keep his friends safe from the Failsafe and those who control it?
